Blue Ridge PRISM’s 2022 Brown Bag Webinar Series

Session 1: “Meet Your Forester!”, February 9
Connecting landowners with their local foresters.
Come meet your area forester during the lunch hour! This session is a virtual event during which landowners in the Blue Ridge PRISM service region can connect with their local foresters.
There will be a very brief presentation on what services the Virginia Department of Forestry (DOF) offers to landowners. After which, we will open up the session so that the audience can ask questions about forest management, invasive management, timber harvest, land stewardship, and other related topics. DOF staff working in Page, Rockingham, Rappahannock, Fauquier, Warren, Loudoun, Greene, Madison, Augusta, Nelson, and Albemarle Counties will be there to answer your questions.

Session 2: “Spotted Lanternfly and Tree-of-heaven”, August 17
Learn how to manage tree-of-heaven to mitigate the spread of SLF
Lori Chamberlain of the Virginia Department of Forestry and Tim Maywalt, volunteer for Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards and Blue Ridge PRISM, discuss the relationship between tree-of-heaven (Ailanthus altissima), how to identify both species, and how best to control tree-of-heaven.
