Join us on November 1 via Zoom for our Fall Meeting when we welcome David Carter as our speaker. His presentation “Virginia’s Hardwood Forests:  Lore, Lies, Luck & Looking Forward” will discuss the challenges that Virginia’s hardwoods face and will elaborate on ways to make informed and effective decisions to help tackle these issues. Dr. Carter will have a Q&A with the audience at the end of his presentation.

This is a free online event and includes a question & answer period with the audience. Those who register will receive access to the recording.

David Carter is Assistant Professor of Silviculture in the Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation at Virginia Tech. Dr. Carter’s research focuses on developing silvicultural techniques to accomplish a diversity of forestry goals and objectives. He also serves as a co-director of the Forest Productivity Cooperative, an international partnership between Virginia Tech, North Carolina State University, the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil, and the Universidad de Conception in Chile that is committed to creating innovative solutions to improve productivity through sustainable forestry practices.
