Invasive Tree-of -Heaven (Ailanthus altissima) Control Workshop at Hoover Ridge Park in Madison, VA

Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus altissima) is one of the most aggressive non-native invasive tree species in Virginia and host to the Spotted Lantern Fly. This workshop will educate in plant identity and train and equip you in techniques to control this species on your own property in a way that is safe and effective.
We will be working in the woods. Required protective attire include, boots, long pants and long-sleeved shirt, hat, and gloves. Please bring your own small hand saw and pruners. Bring whatever drinks or snacks you might need.
Supplies for the workshop are funded by a grant from Virginia Master Gardeners.
