This past year was again transformative for PRISM. Two major grants helped PRISM to add regional staff to support our education and outreach programs. In addition to PRISM’s seasonal workshops, two new workshops were planned and hosted during fall 2022. New fact sheets were added to our famed collection, incredible invasive plant social media campaigns were developed, and a new technical assistance program was launched. New partnerships have been cultivated by the Invasive Management Specialist in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties and across our service area. We are able to engage and better address public concern and meet public demand for invasive management resources because of increased staff capacity. A grant from the Richard K Mellon Foundation has been a game changer and is supporting a statewide invasive strategic planning process that we believe will change the conversation about invasive plants in the Commonwealth and set a unified coalition on a course for meaningful change.
